#1. Three letters – g.tt
If you question “why don’t I simply track at DHL or USPS website?”, try to tell me the exact link for tracking a DHL or USPS package. Well, I don’t think you can remember, so I put it down here (which i need to google it) for you to compare. Um..g.tt is just SHORT.

#2. Short tracking link
If you track at g.tt, every tracking number comes with a tracking link that you can easily remember. Again, let’s compare g.tt vs DHL:
DHLhttp://www.dhl.com/content/g0/en/express/tracking.shtml?brand=DHL&AWB=3474120720

The g.tt link is simple and easy to remember – simply type g.tt, then carrer short-name, and the tracking number. Here’re the tracking link sample:
g.tt/dhl/3474120720 <- DHL tracking
- g.tt/fedex/xxxxxxxxx <- Fedex tracking
- g.tt/usps/xxxxxxxxxx <- USPS tracking

#3. Clean Tracking Results
We have been dealing with tracking results from various carriers in different countries in the past year and we are totally frustrated the inconsistency of delivery results that each courier provide – some lack important information, some have really bad design. So we decide to make it clean and easy to read.

#4. Multiple Languages

When it comes to tracking, language plays an important role because of using carriers using a different languages for an international shipment. So we want to make tracking results more user friendly to read. Currently it only translates some key fields of the page but we will also translate the latest delivery status into the languages user select.

#5. Coming new features – Auto-detect & Google Map
We have previously provide the auto-detect packages features but the problem is that the same tracking number format clashes with multiple couriers. We are finding a better way to deal with it. We also consider to add a google map – well, just to look cool mainly but not sure if it is real useful. What do you think? Let us know at the AfterShip idea forum.

#6. Who will use this free service?
Perfect for individuals who want to send or receive packages, merchants who send small amount of shipments.

g.tt is made with passion by the AfterShip team. Hope you guys like it.
