1. Stealing Packages at Front Door
People worry if the package may be stolen when it is just left at front door. When leaving the package unattended (especially when you’re not at home), anyone can steal it easily from your front door and also resell it for a big profit. Here’re some concerns from the internet users.

2. Throwing Packages at Front Door

The story went viral and was reported by the main stream media. The funniest part? Video description:’…I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate.Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken.’ Poor him.
(2) Just to be fair - UPS throws at front door as well. This time they threw a new hard disk. That delivery man is probably a good basketball player.
I thought it only happened during the peak season like Christmas, but it seems to happen often these days. Find this tweet about UPS delivery man throwing his package at front door. I think all couriers should take this serious, otherwise, it will just go viral again.
3. Waiting for Package to be Dropped at Front Door
For those who do not want package to get stolen or wanna know as soon as the package is delivered? Keep refreshing the site to track and check the front door repeatedly…hoping the package is delivered.
4. Solution – Track Your Packages More Often
Cant really help if the delivery man throwing packages but hopefully it will get improved over time. To avoid packages getting stolen and keep waiting for the package (especially when you’re not at home). You can either keep track of your package from time to time - i.e. keep refreshing the tracking page, or setup a notification to receive email or text when the package is delivered (UPS or Fedex does provide such service.)

I’m so frustrated with UPS. The driver called me at 11:55 am and I told him I’m at work. He asked me to open the main building door for him to place the package at my apartment door. I left work at lunch knowing I should not trust UPS. At 12:30 pm. There was no parcel anywhere in my building. I checked all apartments door steps thinking he might got confused between apartments. I called the expeditor his said the tracking states that the driver left it at the building main door. If he was planning to leave it at the main door anyway why did he call to buzz him in?? It’s horse back riding tack. It’s very specific selling in the black market doesn’t earn much. In 35 minutes I lost a valuable package. Any suggestion about recourse? Thank you.
I had a package stolen 2 weeks ago. Fedex just left it at the front door, that day me and husband were both home waiting for it, nobody knocked on the door, I kept refreshing the tracking and finally saw that it was left at the front door but when I went outside, there was NOTHING. I called up the company and they are taking a while to investigate it too and told me I can reorder……I am no way going to reorder and pay out of my own packet again AND the item is out of stock now. Today I had another package left at the front door by UPS (the usual ups delivery man who knows me) but still…….all I heard was the door knocked, I ran to the door and he was already in his truck ready to go, it was like he just knocked and put it down without even waiting for an answer??? This is annoying, I live in the apartmennts so anybody can just walk by and take it!!!
Sorry to hear your story. Indeed it happens everyday, if your seller is using aftership, at least you can get the notification about the “left in front door” message on time, not 2 weeks later. That’s why we made aftership.
